The first book in a breathtaking new fantasy series, A Legacy of Storms and Starlight is a captivating and addictive read, perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and Danielle L. Jensen.
Zylah Renfall is certain of two things: she will forever be on the run for the murder of a prince, and she somehow used magic to escape her own hanging.
Aided by a mysterious and infuriating Fae, Zylah dreams of a fresh start and a chance to explore her newly discovered Fae heritage. But her dreams are short-lived as the king’s men still hunt for her head. When she learns of a Fae uprising uniting to overthrow the same king who wants her dead, Zylah seizes her opportunity.
Take down the king, secure her freedom.
With just three months to prepare, Zylah’s future hangs in the balance. Despite the allure of her Fae trainer and the ruthless attempts on their lives, failure is not an option. For as long as the king lives, the Fae remain in the shadows and Zylah will never be free.

Review
I’m not sure how I feel about this one. The cover was stunning and I’m down for anything Fae, adult fae with steamy scenes? DING, DING, DING! WE HAVE MY NEXT READ! Unfortunately though, it starts off as if you’re already halfway through so I felt very confused for most of it. There was no build up, no history etc and I think the author wanted to use the shock factor of the first few chapters to draw the reader in and for me, it really made me struggle. I also found Zylah’s relationship with Holt bothered me. Her constantly wanting to stab him just for crossing his arms was reminiscent of Poppy in From Blood and Ash (except Poppy had very valid reasons for her actions) to then literally moving in with him to then finding herself with someone else it all felt very rushed and honestly lost my interest in regards to romantic connections. The plot had good bones and for me Kopi and Holt are the standout characters. I will reread this one and give it another chance and will carry on with the rest of the series as i think the author has great prospects.
